I got this good buddy who is a talented musician and is currently the drummer for the band The French Semester. They're on a West Coast tour Aug 12-21. Before he and his mates went off on tour, he asked me to make them a sturdy case that they could use to store and sell their wares (e.g. t-shirts, CDs and such). Once we came to an understanding on the design, I slapped this together over the weekend using extra 1/2" & 1/4" Baltic Birch Plywood and spare hardware. Although I find this piece to be quite attactive and functional, I see it as the test case for a more refined version, which he will get soon enough. This was produced with limited time and materials. I believe that the next version will be in maple with a more subdued hardware presence. When closed, the case's measurements are 16"w x 18"h x 8"d.
