This project was for my Mom. The cabinets were originally built and installed by my Uncle Billy about 35 years ago. Red Birch cabinets with hollow-core cabinet doors. I spent my formative years in this kitchen. It was nice to bring it up to date. There was no problem with the structure of the cabinets...Billy had done a good job there. The doors and drawers had taken a beating over the years though, and were in dire need of an upgrade. We kept the drawer handles and door hinges, but the knobs had to go.
